Nai launches the second phase its training program for Afghan journalists
NAI is an Afghan NGO supporting open media in Afghanistan, with financial support from the European Commission and USAID. It is a full member of Internews International and became operational in June 2005.
Nai launched the second phase of its training program on August 6, 2006 after having successfully completed the first phase of its EC funded training project with 2667 graduations from a range of training courses for media professionals organized in Kabul and in the provinces since August 2005.
The new courses offered by Nai were designed following a needs evaluation. Journalism (Basic & advanced, Investigative journalism & news and current affairs), radio production, computer, technical maintenance for radios, women and health programming, media law & journalism ethics, business development, and management courses will be offered to media professionals until December 2006 in Kabul and/or at the provincial radio stations. Other activities are planned as part of this project for the development of the media sector. Nai is carrying out this training program in partnership with Internews Europe, with funding from the European Commission.
