Afghanistan’s first youth parliament to complete its first session 14.06.2007 From June 10, 101 new young faces have been seen in the National Assembly. Young students from Kabul, elected by their peers from over 90 High Schools to the first meeting of the Afghan Youth Training Assembly, have gathered in the National Assembly to learn about a parliament’s role and function and to express their opinions about many issues of acute relevance to Afghanistan. Subjects such as stability and security, education, and development have been debated vigorously and constructively. Thursday June 14 is the final day of the Afghan Youth Training Assembly (AYTA). The President of the AFYTA and the other members of the Administrative Board will hold a Press Conference at the National Assembly from 10.30 to 12.00 in the first floor Conference Room in the Meshrano Jirga and welcomes all members of the press to attend. From 13.30 to 15.00 it will be possible for the media to have individual interviews with members of the Afghan Youth Training Assembly. The press is also invited to the Afghan Youth Training Assembly Closing Ceremony, which will take place from 15.00 to 16.30 in the Hall of the Meshrano Jirga. << | >> |
