Female journalist Zakia Zaki shot dead in Parwan province

A female owner of a radio station in northern Afghanistan was shot dead by three unknown gunmen last night.
Zakia Zaki, the owner of Peace Radio in Parwan province, was shot by pistol and automatic rifle fire in her house about 12 PM in Jabalussaraj, said provincial officials.
The reason for the shooting was not immediately known, they said.
" we are very sad by this incident" said Shahpoor, a resident of Jabalusaraj city.
She was providing news and entertainment for our people, shahpoor added.
After shooting, the gunmen fled away, said a witness who did not want to be named .
Zaki lead the radio station since it opened after the fall of the Taliban in October 2001, he said.
This is the second female journalist, killed by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan in last six days.
Last Thursday, another female journalist working to Shamshad TV in Kabul, was shot dead at her home in Karte Momorin area of Kabul city.
