European Commission launches drawing contest for children on gender equality 07.03.2007 On International Women's Day 2007, the European Commission launches a worldwide drawing competition for children on gender equality. The street children living in Kabul are invited to express their vision of women/men equality submitting a drawing by May 1st 2007. Their participation will testify to creativity, enthusiasm and the integration of the concept of "gender" in the spirit of the children, and more particularly in those of the age 8-10 group years. Children participation will be channelled through the Child Rights Consortium. The best drawings from Afghanistan will be submitted to a jury Brussels . The winner from Asia will be awarded a €1000 prize to be spent in books and educational materials for her/his classmates and school. << | >> |
