President Karzai Reaction to the Paktika Border Incident 18.08.2006 Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is shocked and angered by the news of at least ten Afghan National Police forces killed in a mistake bombing by the Coalition Forces in Paktika province. The President was informed about the details of the incident through the Ministry of Interior and the Governor of Paktika. In his immediate reaction to the news the President said, I am extremely saddened by this tragic incident and I want an immediate investigation to find out what exactly happened. I have repeatedly asked the coalition forces to take maximum caution while carrying out operations and I want that incidents like this must not be repeated. << | >> |
