TOLO TV Journalists beaten and Camera stolen in Paghman District of Kabul
31.07.2006 Three TOLO TV journalists were beaten by armed 'semi uniformed' men while filing a report on a demonstration against Member of Parliament Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf in Paghman district of Kabul on Saturday.

Noorullah Rahmani, one of TOLO TV's senior journalists, was hit with the butt of an AK-47 while the cameraman Qais Ahamd and driver were kicked and punched to the ground.

The camera was then snatched away (and confiscated) at gun point while local uniformed police officers look on.

Saad Mohseni, Director of TOLO TV, called on the government to immediately investigate the above offence. 'Thugs should not be allowed get with away with such intimidations. Media outlets and their staffers need the protection of government to undertake their constitutional rights to report on events', he added.
