Arg, Kabul Hamid Karzai, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, called the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi a severe blow for terrorism and a major success in the war on international terrorism.

In his reaction to the killing of Zarqawi the President said âZarqawi and his terrorist organization were responsible for the killing of thousands of Muslims in Iraq and in Afghanistan.
Zarqawi's death is not the end of terrorism in the world, but a significant step in ridding the world of the menace of terrorism. This success should encourage us all, both in the Muslim world and beyond, to continue and step up our common fight against terrorism.
