“KABUL THROUGH OUR EYES” - A Photographic Exhibition 09.05.2006 n April 2006 a group of ASCHIANA street kids and some Kabul University students (ages from 15 – 25) participated in a 3 week photography workshop conducted by IPSUM (Austria). As part of the course they learned how to use a pinhole camera and produce black and white images and then moved on to colour photography. They were encouraged to think carefully about what they wanted to photograph. Each participant chose a number of images that were printed. Finally, the students prepared their work for an exhibition at Kabul University. They were provided with materials but were responsible for mounting and hanging the exhibition themselves. This current exhibition, held at ASCHIANA is a follow on exhibition. Most of the original photographers are exhibiting for the second time and there will be photographs for sale. It will also be possible to order reprints of photos. We hope you will have time to visit the exhibition and support these new photographers. 1 May – 13 May 2006 Opening: Thursday 11 May: 6.00pm – 8.00pm Friday 12 May: 9.00am – 5.00pm Saturday 13 May: 4.00pm – 6.30pm Where: ASCHIANA Main Office Shar-e-now (near to Ministry of Women’s Affairs opposite Zia Bootic and next to Afghan Gallery) Contact details: Sarah Johnston Education and Training Consultant ASCHIANA (www.aschiana.com) Email: svtenacity@compuserve.com Mob: 070187015 << | >> |
