Explosives cargo for Afghanistan missing from Indian ship 29.12.2005 Mumbai: Nearly 100 tonnes of explosives meant for India's Border Roads Organisation's construction work in Afghanistan is feared to have gone missing from a merchant ship that returned here Wednesday. The ship, M.V. Euginia, which set sail Dec 22 for Bunder Abbas port in Iran to send the cargo to Jaranz in Afghanistan, was believed to have sunk. It was later reported that the ship had radioed a message saying the explosives consignment had slipped and fallen into the sea, after which it turned back to Mumbai. The captain and the six-member crew of the ship have been detained for questioning. << | >> |
