Kidnappers of Clementina Cantoni Sentenced to Death in Afghanistan  23.12.2005 An Afghan court today sentenced to death two men for kidnapping and murder after a one-day trial in Kabul.The president of the National Security Court Abdul Baset Bakhtyari said the two were responsible for abducting and killing an Afghan businessman Hafizullah Zadran earlier this year.They were also found guilty of kidnapping an Italian aid worker (Clementina Cantoni) for three weeks this year. A third man received 20 years in prison. The convicted men were believed to appeal. << | >> |
