Two northern Afghan governors replaced 05.09.2005 KABUL - Two provincial governors have been replaced in northern Afghanistan after a spate of demonstrations against one of them. Acting on a suggestion of the interior ministry, President Hamid Karzai Sunday decreed the transfer Juma Khan Hamdard from Baghlan province, where a string of protests had been held against him. Replaced by Mohammad Alam Rasikh, Hamdard has been appointed as the new governor of the neighboring Jawzjan province.
