A New Hope in Jalalabad -

A New Hope in Jalalabad
26.07.2005 ARMAN FM, Afghanistan’s first and most popular commercial radio station, commenced broadcast in the eastern city of Jalalabad this week.

ARMAN FM owes its popularity to a progressive mix of entertainment and news, broadcasting in a relaxed style that also belies cultural norms in terms of gender and ethnicity. Broadcasting in both Dari and Pashto, ARMAN FM can be heard in Kabul, Heart, Mazar and Kandahar. With the inclusion of the population of Jalalabad, estimated at one million, ARMAN FM will be available to over 11 million Afghans nationally.
