Rice arrives for first visit to Afghanistan Rice flew in on a US Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft from the Pakistani capital Islamabad on the third stop of a six-nation tour of Asia which is also taking in India, China, South Korea and Japan. "It's my first trip to Afghanistan and it's very exciting to see what's happened there," Rice told reporters earlier in the week. The top US official is scheduled to meet US-backed Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah, and top American diplomats and military officials.
