if he really loved you, race should not be an issue. 2 really close relatives of mine are afghan and american. the cultural differences is what adds to the relationship. the excitement of learning something new. it should be embraced, not frowned upon.

um, yeah, afgs do marry non-afgs...  THe only reason I could think of why ppl would want their family to avoid non-afgs is to avoid having ... marrying into their family...

since we place so much upon. well, you should have a fair idea of what we value - I don't really see a girl or a guy that dates being looked upon favorably upon any AFG family - as a few ppl have already said, we don't date, so even by doing that, he's already abandoned one of the most important afg cultures.

Esp, if you guys did anything... -.- in that case, not only you (no offense) in our culture would be seen as um... , so would he.

i guess he just wants to play around the field more, if he's not responding to your desire to make ur relationship solid. 

Awww I am so sorry that you have to face such troublesome circumstances, but I believe he may not be the one for you if he can treat you this way.  You deserve a noble man, who is dedicated.  My heart goes out to you, I know how it feels to be rejected by the one you think you love the most, but I realized there are things that are more important to me, like my family and my dreams.  Perhaps he isn't with you because he doesn't deserve you. Keep your head up high and your heart in the right place. I'm not afghan myself, so I'm as lost as I can be when it comes to the customs and traditions.
